Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE)
Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) is an engineering process that accurately identifies the quality of subsurface utility information - the data and techniques needed to effectively design and construct a project.
T-Rex has worked with numerous engineering firms, city municipalities, and TXDOT to provide SUE service on some or all Quality level applications A through D.
For the SUE application T-Rex can cut or core the hole (if in concrete), provide industrial vacuum excavate with air or use our heavy duty hydro excavation services trucks to locate the line, provide X-Y-Z coordinates, backfill the hole according to regulations, restore the concrete or core, and provide a CAD drawn test hole data sheet. If necessary we will provide project management for traffic control, street cut permits and sidewalk closures. We will play as large or small of a roll as necessary...just let us know what you need.
Quality Levels
Quality Level A - Vacuum Excavation: The use of non-destructive vacuum excavation to determine the exact horizontal and vertical position of the utility.
Quality Level B - Designating: Employ geophysical methods to designate the horizontal position of the known utilities that lie within the project area.
Quality Level C - Surface Feature Survey / Inventory: Assessment of site utilities and correlating this information with existing utility records.
*T-Rex can provide personnel for manhole investigation and collection of utility data to assist in Quality Level C.
