Hydro Excavation Video Case Study: Excavate Pier Holes using Casing

Safe, fast and non-destructive Hydro Excavation Services were provided by T-Rex Services in order to excavate pier holes in Houston, TX. 

 

Scope: 

In this project a commercial client hired T-Rex to use hydro excavation to excavate 6 pier holes 24" diameter x 28' deep.  

 

Execution:

Along with T-Rex's top of the line industrial hydro excavation trucks , casings were used since the ground water and sand started at 16' deep making the ground difficult to excavate. The casing allowed T-Rex to withstand the amount of groundwater and the collapsing of the sand into the excavated hole. 

 

 

Result:

The fiber optic cable was located in the fifth pier hole at a depth of 26' deep, as opposed to the 40' depth it was suspected to be at. Since T-Rex was able to get water and dump on site, we were able to save the clients time and money. This hydro excavation project took one day to complete.
